It’s amazing how much you can find out about an organization from reading its Facebook posts! We recently heard from a community member who enjoyed watching several video posts about the school while visiting the C.F. Richards Facebook Page over Christmas Break. They mentioned one post was especially enjoyable! It was a parent/student testimonial video prepared over the holiday break by a C.F. family from Rockbridge County, Virginia (see video below). The visitor never realized how many clubs the school had up and running last semester! From the video, he learned about the Spanish Club, the Junior Engineer Club, the Comic Book Club, the Drama Club (who put on the annual Christmas Program at the school), and the Crocheting Club. As a cartoonist himself, he expressed the fact that he would be interested in the Comic Book Club if he were a student at C.F. Richards! From the short video he learned that some clubs like the Drama Club work on programs that parents and the public can attend, and these programs sometimes serve snacks, cookies and lemonade! Sounded like fun to him! Other clubs include Board Games Club, Cooking Club, and Watercolor Painting Club. All clubs are led by teachers and volunteers and students look forward to this opportunity on Friday afternoons.
C.F. Richards Christian School in Staunton, Virginia, offers a variety of Friday clubs. School clubs help develop creativity and problem-solving skills. They also foster leadership and teamwork by helping students grow in working together to achieve common goals. Students are challenged to think outside the box and come up with creative solutions to existing problems, and there is nothing like overcoming problems in a group setting!
At the top of the list of things differentiating clubs at C.F. from clubs at other public schools in the area, God’s grace abounds. There are so many opportunities for children enrolled at C.F.
