The beginning of a new year always invites us to pause, reflect, and look ahead with hope. At C.F. Richards Christian School, this season is more than a calendar change—it is a renewed opportunity to grow, to learn, and to walk more closely with God together as a school family.
Each new year brings fresh beginnings for our students. New lessons to explore. New questions to ask. New skills to develop. But beyond academics, we recognize that every child who walks through our doors carries God-given potential that extends far beyond the classroom. Our mission has always been to nurture the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—so that learning is anchored in faith and character.
In a world that often feels uncertain and fast-moving, Christian education offers something deeply steady: a foundation rooted in biblical truth, compassion, and purpose. At C.F. Richards, academic rigor and spiritual growth go hand in hand. Students are encouraged not only to excel in reading, science, mathematics, and the arts, but also to think critically, act kindly, and live faithfully.
As we step into this new year, we remain committed to:
- Christ-centered learning, where faith is woven naturally into every subject
- Academic excellence, supported by dedicated teachers and a strong curriculum
- Character development, emphasizing integrity, service, and respect
- Community, where students are known, valued, and encouraged
We are grateful for the partnership of families who entrust us with their children, for teachers who view education as a calling, and for supporters who believe in the lasting impact of Christian schooling. Together, we are planting seeds that will continue to bear fruit long after this school year ends.
Our prayer for the year ahead is simple and sincere: that our school would be a place where students grow in wisdom, confidence, and faith; where challenges become opportunities; and where God’s love is seen not only in what we teach, but in how we live and serve together.
Thank you for being part of the C.F. Richards Christian School family. We look forward to all that God has planned in the months ahead.
“Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and He will establish your plans.”
— Proverbs 16:3

I consider myself a fruit of Christian education…though maybe an old fruit that has already dropped from the tree…hopefully one that has provided some food for a few deer along the way, and has now thrown down some roots of my own to spread even more seeds in the fertile soil around my ever widening trunk! The experience I had in just two years of enrollment in a school similar to CF Richards Christian School helped instill within me a lifetime of confidence, balanced with humility, that has helped me to be a Godly leader within my community here in Staunton, Va. And by Godly, I’ve learned through early training and life-long testing, I mean that God is in control, and that we must allow Him to direct us where we should go, how we should act among others, how we should help because He’s helping us through any situation that may face an old fruit tree: Even a cold winter, even death. I’m prayerful I have a few seasons left to bear fruit. As far as you’re concerned, if you have kids or grandkids, consider even just a year or two of Christian school for your child or grandchild out of the public school system and see if it makes a difference in their outlook on life. It did mine! Happy new year ahead! And, God bless you always while you still have life on this earth to give and invest.
